Area around 500 block of Willow Alley canvassed but no arrests made
A single gunshot emanating from the 500 block of Willow Alley caught the attention of police on patrol in the area of Sixth Avenue and Harmony Street on Wednesday at 3:33 p.m., Det. Shannon Miller reported. Assisted by officers from Caln Township, police said they searched the area but no arrests were made.
While officers were investigating a report of shots fired in the area of South First Avenue and Oak Street at 2:33 a.m. Thursday, they observed a dark-colored vehicle leaving the area of Fourth and Walnut Streets and conducted a traffic stop, Cpl. Larry Cooper reported. Carla D. Moore, who was found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, also had an active criminal warrant for narcotics possession, police said. Moore, 41, of Coatesville, was taken into custody, police said.
Officer Jonathan Shave was checking the holding cells at the Coatesville Police Station Wednesday at 11:05 p.m. when he observed Bryan Paul Stafford, 26, of Coatesville, damaging the camera system that monitors prisoners. Stafford, who was in custody on charges out of Cain Township, faces additional charges for the approximate $500 in equipment damage, which caused the cell to be placed out of service, police said, adding that he was held for video arraignment.
Police were dispatched to the unit block of West Fifth Avenue on Tuesday at 7:27 a.m. for a drug complaint, Det. Shannon Miller reported. A 14-year-old juvenile was charged with marijuana possession, police said.
Det. Shannon Miller also responded to a residence in 300 block of Madison Street on Wednesday at 6 a.m. for a criminal mischief complaint, police said. The resident said sometime overnight an unknown subject attempted to break into his garage, police said. The garage door was damaged but nothing was reported missing, police said.
Coatesville units were dispatched to the 600 block of Olive Street for a domestic disturbance at 7:04 a.m. on Wednesday, Det. Shannon Miller reported. Andrea Burrage, 47, of Coatesville, was charged with summary harassment for striking the victim with a stick, police said.
