Black spray paint used to deface wall, buildings

 Police asking anyone with information on ‘Air’ graffiti to contact them

Image 2On Monday at 8:17 a.m., police discovered graffiti in the 300 block of Diamond Alley, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Police said several buildings and a wall had been marked with black spray paint that spelled “Air” in bubble-style letters.

Coatesville officers were able to cover some of the graffiti, police said. The city’s Codes Department was notified and will be sending letters to property owners reminding them that they are responsible for removing the graffiti. Anyone with information relating to this graffiti or any type of graffiti is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

During a traffic stop Monday in the area of South 13th Avenue and Stirling Street, Justin White, 23, of Coatesville was taken into custody on an active bench warrant for a probation violation, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. White was transported to the Chester County Prison, police said.

On Monday, Coatesville were notified that a wanted Coatesville resident was walking in the area of South Third and Maple Avenues, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Jason Colon-Ortiz, 28, was taken into custody without incident and turned over-to the Caln Township Police on a retail-theft warrant, police said. Colon-Ortiz was arraigned and taken to the Chester County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $2,500 bail, police said.
