Growing popularity has produced later hours, expanded offerings
Just in time to produce healthier lifestyles, the Coatesville Farmers Market will reopen for the season on Saturday with new hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The market, which debuted last June, will be open on Saturdays through October at Gateway Park, at the intersection of Route 82 and Lincoln Highway. Visitors will have an opportunity to stroll or bike along the Riverwalk and then continue to exercise good health by purchasing fresh produce and specialty goods from a variety of area vendors.
The Brandywine River Boys will provide opening-day musical entertainment, and community partners for the first week are Master Gardeners of Chester County, which will offer hands-on planting advice; UDS Service Dogs, which will sell handmade doggie biscuits to fund service dog training; and the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, which offers intervention and outreach to prevent domestic abuse.
The vendors will include Rex Farms Orchard, Jacob Beiler, Nomadic Pies, Wonderful Good Market, Railyard Roastery Coatesville Community Coffee, MacDougall’s Irish Victory Cakes, Pennsylvania Cookie House, Sunset Park Gluten-Free Cookies, Irie Jamaican Food and Coffee, Botanical Bubbles, Tootsie Fashions, Sylvia’s Socks, and Vollmeke Orchards and CSA.
