Coatesville man faces drug possession charges

Police: Failure to display inspection sticker led to traffic stop

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe absence of inspection and emissions stickers led to a traffic stop for a 40-year-old Coatesville man on Friday at 1:55 p.m. in the 200 block of East Lincoln Highway, Cpl. Larry Cooper reported.

After making contact with Robert J. Hudecheck, Cooper detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana, and Hudecheck possesses a clear baggie with marijuana, a glass pipe and other drug paraphernalia, police said. He was taken into custody and released on $10,000 unsecured bail to await a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, court records said.

A pedestrian stop in the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway on Friday at 3:26 p.m. led to drug charges for another Coatesville resident, Det. Shannon Miller reported. Eric Reason, 20, was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana, police said.

 On Friday at 11:30 a.m., police assisted county probation officers with the service of a probation-violation warrant for Steven L. Taylor, 39, of Coatesville, on West Sixth Avenue, Officer Chris McCarthy reported.

Officer Paul Antonucci responded to a hit-and-run accident in the area of South Fourth and Maple Avenues on Friday at 9:10 p.m., police said.  A witness told police that an older red and white truck traveling westbound on Maple Avenue struck an unoccupied parked vehicle while attempting to make a U-turn at South Fourth Avenue, police said. The truck’s driver fled the scene and was last seen traveling southbound on South Fourth Avenue.
