Police said Coatesville resident lashed out at officers attempting to arrest him
A 35-year-old Coatesville man resisted officers’ efforts to take him into custody Friday morning, police said.
Officers Rob Kuech and Cpl. Ken Michels were on patrol at 1:32 a.m. near Strode Avenue and West Lincoln Highway  when they came into contact with Shahied R. Thompson, police said. When the officers attempted to arrest Thompson for public drunkenness and narcotics possession, Thompson responded by assaulting the officers, who sustained minor injuries, police said.
Thompson, who faces charges that include aggravated assault and multiple drug offenses, was arraigned and bail was set at 10 percent of $15,000, which Thompson was unable to post, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 3.
