Coatesville police investigating hit-and-run accident

Victim reportedly rear-ended on Sunday at 2:05 p.m.

Image 2On Sunday at 2:05 p.m., Coatesville officers were called to investigate a hit-and-run accident  in the area of Rt. 82 and Diamond Alley, Officer Rob Kuech reported. A while, older-model Honda Accord reportedly rear-ended the victim’s vehicle and fled eastbound in the 100 block of Diamond, police said.

No injuries occurred, but he victim’s vehicle sustained minor damage, and the Accord received heavy front-end damage, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Coatesville police at-610-384-2300.

A 25-year-old Coatesville woman was arrested Sunday at 5:09 p.m., Cpl. Jeffrey Ingemie and Officer Stephen Galletta reported. Kyiera James was taken into custody for PCP intoxication during a domestic dispute with family members, police said.

A multi-vehicle accident on the Rt. 30 Bypass in Caln Township on Friday caused vehicle damage but no injuries, state police from the Embreeville barracks said. Police said the drivers were traveling eastbound at 6:39 a.m. at mile post 277.9 when a 2004 Mazda 3 with three passengers driven by Heather Butts, 19, of Reinholds, stopped suddenly for a vehicle in front of her.  Dan Fisher, 38, of Lancaster, who was driving a 2008 GMC Canyon tried and failed to stop, rear-ending the Hyundai. A 2004 Hyundai Sonata driven by Greg Stewart 26, of Downingtown, was also unable to stop, police said.

A traffic stop by state police on Chester Avenue, south of Lincoln Highway, in Coatesville on May 25 at 1:50 a.m. led to driving under the influence charges for Bonnie Lou Myers, 57, of Glen Burnie, Md., state police said.
