Police: Driver who stopped to avoid crash gets rear-ended

Atglen woman cited for following too closely

Image 2A  two-vehicle crash occurred May 28 at 6:37 a.m. on the Rt. 30 Bypass in Caln Township, state police from the Embreeville barracks reported.

Police said the crash occurred as a Coatesville woman, who sustained a minor injury, was forced to stop her 2012 Hyundai Accent in the eastbound lane, east of Rt. 322, because a crash occurred in front of her. Police said a 2003 Subaru Legacy operated by Stephanie L. Tarloski, 23, of Atglen, was unable to stop and rear-ended the Hyundai; Tarloski was cited for following too closely, police said.

Coatesville police were dispatched to the 400 block of Mount Pleasant Road on Monday for two auto thefts, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. The victim said the two vehicles – a 2002 Gold Hyundai Accent and an unknown year cream-colored Ford Contour – went missing sometime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, police said. An investigation is continuing, police said.

 While on patrol on Monday at 6:20 p.m., police came into contact with Robert Lesoken, Cpl. Guy Bruchstein reported.  Lesoken, 52, of Coatesville, who possessed two 40 oz. beer cans, one of which was nearly empty, was intoxicated to a degree that he could not stand on his own, police said. He was arrested for public drunkenness, police said.

A female resident of the 700 block of Coates Street told police that she tried to break up a disturbance in front of her house at 12:21 a.m. on Tuesday and was punched in the face by Charquita Gibbs, 19, of Coatesville, who left the scene before police arrived, Officer Carmen Mollichella reported. 0021 hours. Gibbs was mailed a citation for harassment, police said. Cpl. Larry Cooper

Cpl. Larry Cooper was dispatched to the 200 block of West Lincoln Highway for a two-vehicle accident involving a parked Land Rover and a cement mixer on Monday at 8 a.m., police said. No injuries were reported, and the Land Rover sustained minor damage, police said.
