Resident reports getting charged for bogus account

Someone fraudulently used victim’s name to order internet phone service, police said

Image 2A Coatesville resident told police on Monday at 10:20 a.m. that an account for an internet phone-service provider was fraudulently created under his name and the company charged his bank account  $37, Sgt. Steven Smith reported. Police said the illicit activity has been reported to the victim’s bank. An investigation is continuing, police said.

Coatesville police responded to a drug complaint at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the 200 block of Diamond Street and found Anthony Brown, 18, of Coatesville, in possession of marijuana, Det. Shannon Miller reported. Charges were filed, police said.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of West Lincoln Highway on Monday at 11:12 p.m. for a robbery complaint, Det. Shannon Miller reported. Police said the victim stated that he was standing outside of his vehicle when two unknown males approached him and ordered him away from the vehicle. The actors stole the vehicle and drove eastbound on Lincoln Highway, police said, adding that the vehicle was recovered on Charlotte Street a few minutes later. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

On Monday at 6:30 p.m. Officer Jonathan Shave responded to the 600 block of Belmont St. for a report of several individuals shooting dice on the corner, police said. When the officer arrived, several subjects took off running; Raijon Redd, 18, of Coatesville, and a juvenile male were cited for disorderly conduct, police said.

A Coatesville resident told police on Monday at 2:59 p.m. that he came outside and found the rear window of the driver’s side of his vehicle smashed, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. The victim said that nothing was missing from the vehicle and that he did not see or hear anything overnight, police said.

Officer Carmen Mollichella was dispatched to the area of the 100 block of Woodland Avenue on Monday at 10:41 a.m. for a report of vandalism, police said. Four parked vehicles had damaged windows on the passenger’s side facing the street that appeared to have been caused by a BB gun, police said. The victims said they parked the night before and found the damage in the morning, police said. An investigation is continuing, police said.

Police were dispatched to the rear of the unit block of Oak Street on Monday at 6:37 a.m. for a theft from a vehicle, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. The victim stated he parked his vehicle overnight and when he came out in the morning, he found his phone and a bag of clothing missing, police said.

On Monday at 8:20 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of East Harmony Street for criminal mischief to a vehicle, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. The victim said she came outside in the morning and found her rear driver’s side window was shot out, possibly by a BB gun, police said. The victim stated she had not been out to her vehicle since last week so she did not know when the damage occurred since she did not see or hear anything, police said.

Chrysty Lynette Wheeling, 32, of Lititz, was stopped on the westbound Rt. 30 Bypass at Reeceville Road in Caln Township on May 27 at 3:01 a.m. for operating without taillights, state police from the Embreeville barracks said. During the traffic stop, Wheeling was determined to be under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance, state police said. She was charged in district court, police said.

State police are investigating an incident of vandalism that occurred sometime between Sunday at 8:45 p.m. and Monday at 1:30 a.m.  in the 2900 block of Lincoln Highway in Sadsbury Township. Police said the front and rear passenger’s side windows of a 2007 Saturn Ion were smashed. No property was taken from the vehicle, police said.
