Coatesville police looking for information on assailant
At 2:53 this morning, Coatesville police responded to a stabbing in the 300 block of Lemon Street, Officer Kirt Guyer reported.
The victim, who is not being identified by police, said he was stabbed in the right side of his stomach by an unknown black male wearing a black tank top and jeans, police said. The victim described his assailant as being in his 40s, about 6-feet tall, with a medium build and scruffy beard. Anyone with information is asked to contact Coatesville police at 610-384-2300. Police did not provide information on the victim’s condition.
On Friday at 6:07 a.m., Officer Jonathan Shave responded to the 500 block of Elm Street for a report of burglary, police said. Surveillance video showed the theft of a Ford Explorer from a garage, police said. Further investigation revealed that West Brandywine Township Police had stopped the vehicle and charged Terrell Barber, 28, of Coatesville, with burglary and theft, police said.
State police from the Embreeville barracks said a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted this weekend on an undisclosed roadway in their coverage area. The effort is part of a campaign to reduce fatalities and injuries caused by drug- and alcohol-related crashed, police said.
