60-year-old resident describes early-morning assault

Man said two young males inflicted minor injuries 

ImageCoatesville police were dispatched on Wednesday at 3:58 a.m. to South Fifth Avenue and East Harmony Street for an alleged assault, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. The 60-year-old victim said he was attacked by two young black males, one wearing a purple hoodie and the other wearing a black jacket with a white shirt, police said. The victim, who suffered minor injuries, was transported to Brandywine Hospital for evaluation, police said.

Officer Guy Bruchstein was dispatched to the unit block of South Sixth Avenue on Wednesday at 1:02 a.m. for the report of an intoxicated subject, police said. Upon arrival, he came into contact with Rodrick Brice, 63, who was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to a degree that pose a danger to himself, police said. Brice was arrested and transported to the station without incident, police said.

A disturbance in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street at 1:54 a.m. on Wednesday led to the arrest of Mark Irons, 46, of Coatesville, Officer Paul Antonucci reported.  Irons was taken into custody on several warrants, police said.

Police were dispatched to an accident at North Fourth Avenue and Fleetwood Street on Tuesday at 5:53 p.m., Officer Paul Antonucci reported. Police said Cecil Kegler, 33, of Philadelphia, was traveling southbound on North Fourth Avenue when he missed his turn, slammed on the brakes, and put his vehicle in reverse, striking another vehicle, which has to be towed from the scene. No one was injured, by Kegler was mailed several traffic citations for the accident, police said.

Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday at 9:37 a.m., Cpl. Larry Cooper reported. Anna P. Pringle, 25, of Honey Brook, was taken into custody after being found in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia, police said. She was arraigned and released on $7,500 unsecured bail, police said.

On Friday, two Motorola tablets were stolen out of two unlocked Verizon vehicles while employees were conducting utility work at the intersection North Seventh Avenue and Diamond Street, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Each tablet is valued at $400 to $500, police said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 610-384-2300, and residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and to avoid leaving valuables inside.
