He is accused of sideswiping a West Brandywine Twp. K-9 unit
On Thursday, a 20-year-old Coatesville driver hit a West Brandywine Township K-9 unit on northbound Manor Road at 6:28 a.m. and kept going, said state police from the Embreeville barracks, who are investigating the crash. Police said Brandon C. Marcoux’s 1995 Ford Ranger left the scene after sideswiping the West Brandywine 2002 Ford Explorer, which was traveling southbound. No injuries were reported, police said. A witness helped police locate Marcoux, who was cited, police said.
On Sunday at 10:48 a.m., Coatesville police responded to the 500 block of Harmony Street for a stolen-car complaint, Officer Jose Colon reported. Police said a 2011 Kia Forte 8X, bearing Pennsylvania license number HJL-3561, was stolen from the 500 block of Olive Street, police said.
Cpl. Guy Bruchstein responded to a disturbance on Saturday at 8:10 p.m. in the 100 block of North Third Avenue, police said. Upon investigation, police said Tiarra Hopkins, 21, was involved in a verbal dispute when she punched the front window of an apartment building with her fist, breaking the glass and then left the scene. Police said charges are pending an estimate on damages from the building’s owner.
After responding to a large fight in the 100 block of Millview Drive, police made contact with one of the aggressors, Troy Thomas, 25, of Coatesville, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. Thomas was intoxicated to the degree that he was a danger to himself and to others, police said. After being taken into custody, Thomas banged his head into a police vehicle, causing a dent, police said. Thomas was charged with public intoxication and institutional vandalism, said police, who later learned that he had bitten someone in the left bicep during the fight. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment, police said.
Police are investigating the theft of a black, white and red 2008 Zhejiang Wildfire 50 Scooter from a garage in the 200 block of Charles Street sometime between Friday and Saturday, Cpl. Larry Cooper reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 610-384-2300, and police are reminding residences to lock and secure doors.
Bruce A. Latshaw, 66, of Coatesville, was cited for following too closely and inadequate financial responsibility for a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday at 3:26 p.m. in the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway, Cpl. Larry Cooper said. Police said no injuries were reported.
Police are looking for the male driver of a red Ford pickup that backed into a maroon Kia parked in the unit block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Friday at 7:48 p.m., Cpl. Guy Bruchstein reported. The driver said he would exchange insurance information until he learned police had been called and left the scene, police said.
Responding to a curfew complaint, Coatesville police were dispatched to the area of South Sixth Avenue and Olive Street on Saturday at 2:54 a.m., Officer Paul Antonucci reported. Police took two 12-year-old males and a 13-year-old male into custody for violating the curfew ordinance, police said
On Friday, police made contact with Darrel M. Singletary, 46, of Coatesville, in the 500 block of East Chestnut Street. Singletary, wanted for a traffic warrant, was taken into custody without incident, Officer Chris McCarthy reported.
