Coatesville police seeking assailant on red moped

Victim said he was attacked from behind on East Diamond

Image Coatesville police responded to the 800 block of East Diamond Street on Wednesday at 6:27 p.m. for an alleged assault, Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. The victim said he was approached by an unknown actor from behind, an altercation ensued, and he sustained a laceration to his forehead, which required treatment at Brandywine Hospital, police said. The assailant was described as a black male in his 30s, approximately 6-foot-1 with a medium build; he was seen operating a red moped prior to the attack, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

On Wednesday at 4:29 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave responded to the 400 block of West Lincoln Highway for a two-vehicle accident, police said. No injuries were reported, both drivers were wearing seat belts, and damage to both cars was minimal, police said.

Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Lumber Street on Wednesday at 6:09 p.m. for a criminal-mischief complaint, Officer Paul Antonucci reported.  The victim said that an argument occurred outside her residence and when she went back inside, she heard glass break, police said. The victim said she did not see who did the damage but thought it might be the people who had been arguing, police said.
