Three men escape injury as bullets hit vehicle

Police seeking information about Monday morning shooting

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA report of shots fired led Coatesville officers to the area of Chester Avenue and East Lincoln Highway at 1:40 a.m. on Monday, police said. Cpl. Ken Michels and Officers Miguel Ortiz and Kirt Guyer discovered an occupied vehicle that had been shot multiple times. The three male occupants were not hurt; however, detectives who processed the scene found shell casings, police said, adding that the vehicle was secured for a search warrant. Anyone with Information about the shooting is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

On Sunday at 7:04 p.m., Cpl. Ken Michels and Officer David Marquette observed Rafael Meeks, 37, who has a warrant for a parole violation, in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway, police said. Although Meeks fled on foot, he was apprehended and taken to the police station to await transport by constables, police said. Jonathan Meeks, 39, who also had an active warrant, was taken into custody at the same time in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway, Cpl. Ken Michels and Officer David Marquette reported. Jonathan Meeks, who was found to be in possession of narcotics, was taken to the police station for processing and released to state troopers from the Embreeville barracks, police said.

An alleged domestic dispute led police to the 500 block of Walnut Street on Sunday at 9:54 a.m., Officer David Marquette reported. Upon investigation, Jeffrey Saillant, 34, of Coatesville was taken into custody on a warrant, police said. Saillant was also charged with simple assault for slapping and choking a female victim, police said..

On Saturday at 7:59 p.m., Coatesville police were dispatched to the 200 block of East Lincoln Highway for a retail-theft complaint, Officer Kirt Guyer reported. Upon arrival, he determined that Andrea Moore, 28, of Coatesville, had attempted to take merchandise without paying for it, police said. Moore was taken into custody and cited for retail theft, police said.

A harassment dispatch led police to the unit block of South Eighth Avenue on Saturday at 7:35 p.m., Officer Kirt Guyer reported. Upon investigation, Corey Stanley, 18, of Coatesville, was cited for harassment for hitting a juvenile female in the face, police said.
