Coatesville woman cited for pit bull’s attack

Police said dog jumped fence twice, biting a German shepherd 

ImageCoatesville Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Union Street on Tuesday at 11:25 a.m. for an animal complaint, Officer Carmen Mollichella reported. Upon investigation, officers determined that a pit bull owned by Tina L. Ambroziak jumped the fence in her yard and attacked a 4-year-old German shepherd; the pit bull was removed from the yard and jumped the fence a second time, biting the German shepherd in the leg and neck area, police said. Ambroziak was cited for a violation of the city ordinance that prohibits dogs from running loose, police said.

On Tuesday at 11:32 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Victoria Drive, police said. Princeton Brown, 20, of Coatesville, was cited for criminal mischief after breaking a cell phone, and Marquona Grove, 25, of Coatesville, was cited for harassment, police said.

A burglary call led police to the 300 block of South First Avenue on Tuesday at 6:11 p.m., Officer Jose Colon reported. Police said an unknown person had broken into the victim’s residence and stolen $900 in cash, police said.

Cpl. Larry Cooper responded to an assault complaint in the unit block of South Fourth Avenue on Tuesday at 10:17 p.m., police said. Police said Cornell Thompson, 18, of Coatesville, who had a firearm strapped to his leg, terrorized a 48-year-old bicyclist to the point that he fell from the bike, breaking his wrist.

On Monday at 9:29 p.m., Drue Miller, 23, of Christiana, arrived at the police station to turn himself in on a warrant for simple assault, Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. Miller was processed, arraigned, and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said. –

Cpl. Jonathan Shave conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday at 2:26 a.m. for a violation in the unit block of Pearl Alley, police said. Nyree Thompson, 19, of Downingtown, was found to be in possession of prescription pills, police said, adding that Thompson was processed and released on a summons.

State police from the Embreeville barracks said they will conduct another sobriety checkpoint this weekend at an undisclosed location in their coverage area.
