Police say he shot 21-year-old man in leg Tuesday morning
Police said they are still seeking 17-year-old Da’Quan Gray, accused of shooting a 21-year-old man a little after midnight on Tuesday in the 100 block of Strode Avenue. The victim, who was not identified by police, was treated at Brandywine Hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
Gray, deemed “armed and dangerous” by police, has been charged as an adult with criminal attempted homicide and related offenses, police said. His last known address is in the 300 block of Valley Road, and he fled the scene in a white Mercury sedan with unknown registration, police said.
Police described Gray as a 5-foot-8, 130-pound, black male with black hair, brown eyes, and a thin build. Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of Gray is urged to call police at 610-384-2300 or the anonymous tip line: 610-380-1830.
On Thursday at 12:05 a.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave observed a white Hyundai in the 600 block of East Chestnut Street that had been reported stolen on July 12, police said. Shave pursued the vehicle for approximately 15 city blocks, until the vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle in the 100 block of South Fifth Avenue, police said. The driver, who fled the scene, was described as a black male, about 5-foot-8, wearing a white tank top and khaki cargo shorts, police said. Police responded to the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at 11:39 p.m. Wednesday for a harassment complaint, Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. The victim said Makeeba Taltoan, 37, of Coatesville, had driven around the block several times, shouting insults and throwing eggs, police said, adding that Taltoan was cited for harassment.
On Wednesday at 10:53 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave observed Kadedrah Perry, 19, of Coatesville, in the 800 block of East Chestnut Street, police said. Perry was taken into custody on a retail-theft warrant from Caln Township and held for arraignment, police said.
Cpl. Ken Michels and Officer Rob Kuech saw Kahlie Winkey, 21, walking into AT’s Market in the 200 block of East Lincoln Highway on Wednesday at 7:52 p.m., police said. Winkey, who had a criminal warrant, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the police station to await his video arraignment, police said.
