Seller alleges dirty trick on dirt bike

Police said prospective buyer went for test drive and didn’t return

IMG_0486An alleged dirty deal regarding a dirt bike unfolded on Monday in the 100 block of Strode Avenue, Officer Carmen Mollichella reported. Police said the victim was trying to sell his blue and white Yamaha YZ85 and met a prospective buyer in the parking lot of the Little Chef Family Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. The victim permitted the man to test drive the bike, but he never returned, police said.

Coatesville units were dispatched to a business in the 600 block of East Lincoln Highway on Tuesday at 2 a.m. for a theft complaint, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. After an employee complied with a request to open the back door of the business, a heavy-set black male grabbed a pack of Welch’s fruit snacks and left, police said.

Coatesville police responded to South Eighth Avenue and Olive Street on Monday at 6:30 p.m. for a two-vehicle accident, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. A 50-year-old motorcyclist traveling south on Eighth Avenue said he struck the vehicle in front of him as he made a left turn onto Olive Street because he did not know that the vehicle was also turning left. The motorcyclist, who sustained minor injury, was transported to Brandywine Hospital for evaluation, police said. The other driver, a 26-year-old female, was not injured, police said.
