Two arrested for alleged drunken disturbance

Coatesville police said charges included indecent exposure

IMG_0486On Saturday at 9:02 p.m., Det. Shawn Dowds and Officer Carmen Mollichella were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of South Third Avenue and East Lincoln Highway, police said. When the officers arrived, they made contact with two visibly intoxicated men, one of whom had exposed himself to a group that included a mother and four children under the age of 12, police said.

Miguel Rosado, 70, of Coatesville, was cited for indecent exposure and related offenses and held for arraignment, police said. James, Hilton, 56, of Coatesville, was taken into custody for public drunkenness and transported back to the station, where he was issued a citation and held until sober, police said.

Coatesville and Caln Township Police took Helbert Mercado, 31, of Coatesville into custody on a criminal warrant on Sunday at 1:56 a.m. in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street, Det. Shannon Miller reported. A preliminary hearing on criminal trespass, simple assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle and other charges is scheduled for Wednesday, court records said.

Officer Carmen Mollichella responded to a criminal-mischief complaint on Saturday at 9:56 p.m. in the parking lot of 27 S. Fourth Avenue. The victim said he observed Shakira Potts, 27, of Coatesville, puncture his car tires and walk away, police said. When the victim attempted to stop her, she fled, police said, adding that a citation would be mailed to Potts for criminal mischief.

A woman reported on Saturday at 6:20 p.m. that Thomas Ward 29, of Coatesville, assaulted her in the 400 block of Victoria Drive, Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. Charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and unlawful restraint were filed against Ward, police said.
