City police respond to report of gunshots

Shell casings found in 200 block of Charles Street Friday morning

IMG_0486Coatesville Police responded to the 200 block of Charles Street on Friday at 3:55 a.m. for a shots-fired complaint, Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. Upon arrival, officers located shell casings, a vehicle that had been struck by a projectile, and possibly two houses that had also been struck. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 610-384-2300.

A traffic stop led to drug charges against a 51-year-old Coatesville resident on Thursday at 2:26 a.m., Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. Police said Grove, the vehicle’s operator, was detained in the unit block of South Sixth Avenue and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance for which she did not possess a prescription. She was taken into custody, processed for drug and traffic offenses, and released on a summons, police said.

 On Thursday at 4:30 p.m., police located Toye Aaron Jackson, 26, of Coatesville, in 800 block of East Lincoln Highway, who was wanted on drug charges, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Jackson was taken into custody without incident and held for arraignment, police said.

Coatesville Police came into contact with Audai Dutton, 21, of Coatesville, who had a bench warrant for a probation violation, in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway on Thursday at 11:05 p.m., Officer Kirt Guyer reported. Dutton was taken into custody, transported back to the station, and released to constables, police said.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coatesville Police were dispatched to the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 800 block of East Lincoln Highway on Thursday at 8:43 p.m. for a theft complaint, Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. Upon investigation, police said Anthony Story Jr., 18, of Coatesville, had attempted to leave the

store with an $18.99 bottle of male enhancement supplements concealed in his pocket, causing the store alarm to sound. Story was taken into custody and transported to the station where he was issued a non-traffic citation and released.
