Electronics recovered at pawnshop leads to arrest

Police find items taken during Tuesday burglary

ImageItems stolen on Tuesday during a burglary in the 100 block of Chester Avenue were recovered at a pawnshop, Coatesville Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. As a result of finding the stolen electronics, police charged Christopher Connor, 23, of Coatesville, with theft and receiving stolen property, police said. Connor, who had a warrant for simple assault, was taken into custody on Tuesday and found to be in possession of several bags of marijuana, police said.

Connor was arraigned on both the warrant and the drug charges and was committed to Chester County Prison after failing to post $5,000 cash bail. According to court records, a preliminary hearing on both sets of charges is scheduled for Sept. 9 in Valley Township district court.

 On Wednesday at 8:43 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of Charles Street for a domestic assault, Cpl. Jeffrey Ingemie reported. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female victim, who said Charles Keen, 54, of Coatesville, had choked her and threatened to kill her during an argument, referencing the possibility of getting firearms he had at another location and shooting her and himself, police said. Keen was arrested and taken to Chester County Prison after failing to post  $10,000 cash bail.

On Friday at 10:12 p.m., police responded to 1100 block of East Lincoln Highway for a property-damage accident, Officer Sylvester Earle reported. Officers determined that Kelly Ford, 41, of Coatesville, had rear-ended another vehicle, causing minor damage and no injuries, police said, adding that Ford would be cited for careless driving.
