COATESVILLE — Kites – as well as spirits – are expected to soar Saturday as the city celebrates its second annual Kite Day.
The free event will be held at the Millview Apartment Homes’ playground at the corner of of Coronet and Victoria Drives and starts at 11 a.m. About 40 kites will be available for use, or participants can bring their own.
Marie Hess, one of the organizers, said Kite Day offers several hours of family fun and teamwork. “We love Kite Day because it is an event where generations can teach each other,” Hess said. “It takes work to get the kites in the air and to keep them there.”
