Police: Cell phone stolen from library patron

Identity of youth who grabbed it and fled is being sought

IMG_0874On Wednesday at 5:34 p.m., Coatesville Police were dispatched to the Coatesville Library in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway, for a theft, Officer Kirt Guyer reported. Upon investigation, officers learned that an unknown juvenile grabbed a Motorola Razor Maxx cell phone from a table directly next to its owner and fled through the front door. Police are attempting to identify the youth through video surveillance; anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

Officers Ryan Corcoran and Carmen Mollichella conducted a pedestrian stop in the 600 block of Belmont Street on Wednesday at 10:58 p.m., coming into contact with Jason Stewart, 29, of Coatesville, police said. Stewart was determined to be intoxicated to a degree that he posed a danger to himself and/or others, police said. He was taken into custody, transported to the station where he was held until sober, and cited for public drunkenness, police said.

On Thursday at 2:44 a.m., Officer Carmen Mollichella came into contact with Theresa Arrington, 34, of Coatesville, in the unit block of North Sixth Avenue, police said. Arrington was taken into custody on a bench warrant and transported to the station where she was held for constables, police said.

Coatesville officers on patrol in the 200 block of East Lincoln Highway on Friday at 4:01 a.m. observed Gregory A. Carter, 32, of Coatesville, who exhibited signs of extreme intoxication, Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. Carter, known to have a warrant for simple assault, was taken into custody without incident, transported to the station to await arraignment, and cited for public drunkenness, police said.

On Thursday, Officer Sylvester Earle investigated an assault complaint that resulted in summary harassment and disorderly conduct citations against Damion Meeks, 36, of Coatesville, police said. Meeks is accused of striking the victim during a confrontation, police said.

Officer Joseph Norcini responded to a public building in the 1200 block of East Diamond Street on Thursday at 6:36 p.m. for a graffiti complaint, police said. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

On Thursday at 5:58 p.m., Officer Kirt Guyer made contact with Renee Bloom, 34, of Coatesville in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street, police said. Bloom, who had a warrant from Montgomery County for failure to appear, was taken into custody, transported back to the station, and held for Montgomery County Sheriffs, police said.
