Police said attack occurred in 300 block of Diamond Alley
A 37-year-old Coatesville man was attacked by two juveniles as he was walking eastbound in the 300 block of Diamond Alley on Sunday, Coatesville Police Officer Joe Thompson reported. The victim told police that he fought off the attackers and ran east, but they followed him, assaulting him again before fleeing, police said. The suspects were described as thinly built black males ages 15 to 16; one was wearing a brown hoodie, and the other a white hoodie, police said. Officer David Marquette took Jose Ortiz, 30, of Coatesville, into custody after a traffic stop on Saturday at 11:03 a.m., police said. Ortiz, who had a bench warrant and a criminal warrant for assault, was taken to the police station to await transport by constables, police said.
On Friday at 10:56 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave came into contact with Jose Manuel Sanchez, 29, of Coatesville, who was in his parked car revving his engine, police said. Sanchez was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody and held until sober, police said.
Officers responding to the 500 block of East Harmony Street for a domestic disturbance on Sunday at 5:24 p.m. came into contact with Jennifer Heaps, 32, of Coatesville, who had a criminal warrant out of Maryiand for larceny, Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. Heaps was arrested and searched, found to be in possession of marijuana, and processed, police said.
On Sunday at 7:58 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave responded to the unit block of Chester Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance, police said. Upon investigation, Shave arrested Steven Morgan, 44, of Coatesville for assaulting a family member, police said. Morgan was processed and held for video arraignment, police said.
Cpls. Jonathan Shave and Ken Michel stopped David Fitzsimmons in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and East Lincoln Highway on Sunday at 1:45 a.m., police said. Fitzsimmons, 53, of Coatesville, had a theft warrant out of Philadelphia and was taken into custody, police said.
Harassment charges were filed against Patricia Amway, 51, of Coatesville, after police responded to a domestic dispute on Sunday at 9:13 p.m., Officer Joe Thompson said. The victim was not injured, police said.
Troopers from the Embreeville barracks responded to a one-vehicle accident in Sadsbury Township on Thursday at 6:11 a.m., state police said. A 2011 Ford E250 driven by Brian Neubauer, 48, of Nottingham, was traveling west in the right lane of the U.S. 30 Bypass, west of Airport Road, when it veered off the road, impacting a sign, guide rail and foliage, state police said. Neubauer, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured; however, the car suffered disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene, police said, adding that Neubauer was cited for failing to stay in the lane of travel.
