City man accused of knocking victim unconscious

Police said assault also resulted in loss of at least 2 teeth

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACoatesville Police were dispatched to an assault in the 100 block of North Third Avenue on Tuesday at 1:46 a.m., Officer Rob Kuech reported. Witnesses said Steven Schweitzer, 41, of Coatesville, punched the victim, causing unconsciousness and the loss of at least two teeth, police said, adding that the victim was transported to Paoli Hospital for treatment.

A routine traffic stop led to an arrest for a 23-year-old Coatesville resident on Tuesday at 9:49 p.m., Officer Joe Woulfe reported. Police said Reshia Myers was unable to provide proper documentation for the vehicle, and a further investigation revealed a small amount marijuana in her possession. Myers was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct, police said.

On Sunday at 4:53 p.m., Coatesville Police came into contact with Joseph J. Grove, 23, of Coatesville, in the area of South Fifth Avenue and Olive Street, Officer Joseph Norcini said. Grove, who was known to have a felony warrant, was taken into custody with out incident, police said.

After responding to a fight in the 400 block of Thompson Place, police said Officer Stephen Galletta filed simple assault charges against both parties: Chiquita Stokes, 38, and Tanya White, 40, both of Coatesville. The women, both of whom sustained minor injuries, said the dispute involved a relationship, police said.

On Tuesday at 12:49 p.m., Coatesville Police responded to the 100 block of South Sixth Avenue after receiving information that a 17-year-old male was in the area, Officer Sylvester Earle reported. The teen, who was not identified because of his age, was taken into custody without incident, police said.
