Police: Erratic driver resists efforts to stop him

He was allegedly taken into custody after chase of ‘numerous blocks’

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAfter Coatesville Police Officer Joseph Thompson – on patrol in a marked police car – observed a vehicle being driven erratically at Fifth Avenue and East Lincoln Highway, he attempted to stop it on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 11:05 p.m., police said. Peter Y. Foster, 48, of Coatesville, apparently had other ideas, police said, leading Thompson on a chase for “numerous blocks” before Foster was taken into custody in the 500 block of Coates Street, police said.

Foster was charged fleeing and eluding authorities and reckless driving, police said. He was arraigned and taken to Chester County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $30,000 bail, court records said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 18.

Coatesville Police arrested Dayvon N. Brown, 20, of Coatesville, for trespassing on a fenced-in property in the unit block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 12:34 a.m., Officer Joseph Norcini reported.
