Sunday night fight reportedly leads to 4 arrests

Police say officers arrived as group was gathering to watch

Image 2A dispatch about a pending fight in the rear of the 400 block of Valley Road led to multiple citations on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 10:19 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan A. Shave reported. Upon arrival, police said a large group had gathered to watch. After an investigation, Byron Ellis, 19; Corday Roberts, 18; Khadigah Martin, 21; and a juvenile female, all of Coatesville, were each cited for disorderly conduct, police said, adding that Ellis and Roberts were also cited for obstructing the roadway.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2:30 a.m., Cpl. Jeffrey lngemie was dispatched to the 100 block of South Third Avenue for a one-vehicle accident, police said. Upon arrival, Ingemie made contact with Francisco Davalos-Alvarez, who admitted to crashing the vehicle, claiming that another vehicle came into his path of travel, police said. Davalos-Alvarez was found to be intoxicated to a degree that he was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely, and he was arrested for driving under the influence, police said. He was committed to Chester County Prison after failing to post $20,000 cash bail, police said. Police said Ingemie also had contact with Miguel Ocampo, 21, of Coatesville, who was found to be intoxicated to a degree he was a danger to himself and others. Ocampo was arrested for public drunkenness and held at the station until he was sober, police said.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9:58 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway for a two-vehicle accident with minor injuries, Officer Sylvester Earle reported. Vernice L. Carter Ill said he took his eyes off the road to adjust his radio and his 2012 Chrysler struck a Toyota Sienna, impact that disabled the vehicle and required hospital treatment for its two passengers. Carter, 25, of Coatesville, passed field sobriety tests and will be charged with careless driving, police said.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, at 8:40 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave was patrolling on Belmont Street when he observed Edward Alston, 20, of Coatesville, police said. Alston had a warrant for his arrest, was taken into custody without incident, and turned over to constables for transport to Chester County Prison, police said.

Aliya N. Jones, 18, of Downingtown, and a juvenile were cited for retail theft on Friday, Nov. 16, at 10:02 p.m., said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Police said the two attempted to leave the Walmart in West Sadsbury Township with $102.18 and $57.47 worth of stolen merchandise.

An inoperable taillight led to a traffic stop for Eberechukwu J. Ndukwe, 24, of Coatesville, on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Manor and Beaver Creek Roads in West Brandywine Township, state police said. Ndukwe was cited for being in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe, state police said.
