COATESVILLE —  The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd celebrated the installation of Pastor Susan P. Lynch as senior Pastor. on Sunday, Oct. 27. The service was officiated by The Reverend Clare Burkat, Bishop of the Southeast Pennsylvania Synod of the Lutheran Church.

The installation of Pastor Lynch celebrated an eighteen month search for a pastor following the retirement of Pastor John Carlson who served Good Shepherd for 24 years.  The church was filled with members of Good Shepherd, local clergy, and visitors and friend of Pastor Lynch.  Pastor Lynch has been ordained for 14 years and has served in various churches in the Southeast Pennsylvania Synod and most recently was an interim pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in South Williamsport.

Born and raised in rural Colorado, Lynch received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Colorado in 1990.  In 1992, she began seminary course work at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA.  After a 12 month internship at Fairbanks Lutheran Church in Fairbanks Alaska, Pastor Lynch completed her Master of Divinity degree in 1996.

Pastor Lynch moved to the SEPA Synod in August of 1996.  Since that time she has served the congregations of the Lutheran Church of God’s Love/Newtown, PA, New Hanover Lutheran Church/Gilbertsville, PA, and St. John’s Lutheran Church/Sumneytown, PA.  In the spring of 2011, Pastor Lynch left the SEPA Synod in order to serve in the Upper Susquehanna Synod at Messiah Lutheran Church/South Williamsport, as the Intentional Interim Pastor.

All are invited to meet Pastor Lynch any Sunday. Our services are at 8am & 10:30am with Sunday School at 9am. Interested parties may call the church office 610-384-2035.
