Coatesville man cited for alleged public intoxication

Search reveals marijuana, drug paraphernalia, police said

Image 2On Monday, Nov. 25, Coatesville Police observed Brian L. Mccorkle, 47, of Coatesville, walking with a staggered gate in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway at 11:14 p.m., Officer Rob Kuech reported. Police said Mccorkle was intoxicated to a degree that he was a danger to himself and others, and he was taken into custody. A subsequent search revealed that Mccorkle was in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said. He was arraigned and taken to Chester County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $1,500 bail; a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 4, court records said.

Police stopped Ashlea L. Leonard, 29, of Coatesville, at 10:58 a.m. on Wednesday Nov. 27, in the 400 block of East Lincoln Highway, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Leonard, who had a warrant for failing to appear at a Nov. 18 preliminary hearing on drug paraphernalia charges, was taken into custody, arraigned, and released after posting $150 bail, police said.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 1:30 p.m., Officer Chris McCarthy stopped Michael J. Davis, 33, of Coatesville in the 600 block of Harmony Street, police said. Davis was taken into custody on an assault warrant, arraigned, and transported to Chester County Prison after failing to post $25,000 cash bail.

A 2001 Chevrolet Suburban that was unoccupied and parked in the unit block of South Fourth Avenue was damaged sometime between 8:30 and 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, Officer Joseph Woulfe reported. An unknown vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Suburban and left the scene, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

Officer Kirt Guyer took a burglary report that sometime between 2 and 10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, someone entered the bedroom of a residence in the 500 block of East Chestnut Street and stole a Sony PlayStation 3 valued at approximately $200, police said.

Troopers from the Embreeville barracks charged Sally Digiorgio Niedenthal, 44, of Honey Brook with driving under the influence on Nov. 9 at 12:22 a.m., state police said. Police said Niedenthal exhibited signs of intoxication after troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Compass Road at Caton Road in West Caln Township. Police said Niedenthal was traveling north on Compass Road when she left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Niedenthal, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured, police said.

A Coatesville man was arrested for driving under the influence on Nov. 18 at 10:35 p.m. in East Marlborough Township, said state police from the Avondale barracks. Police said Paul H. Stearn Jr., 50, was stopped in the 800 block of East Baltimore Pike.

On Nov. 8 at 12:32 a.m., Embreeville state police said John V. Lehr, 25, of Coatesville, stole $8.99 in merchandise from the Wawa store in the 3700 block of West Lincoln Highway in West Sadsbury Township.
