State police said they also issued more than 20 citations or warnings
At a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, Nov. 29, state police from the Embreeville barracks said they came in contact with 135 motorists, nine of whom were arrested for driving under the influence.
In addition, one driver was taken into custody for recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest, and one was arrested for underage drinking, police said. Troopers also issued 12 summary citations and nine warnings for various summary traffic violations, police said.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, at 11:56 p.m., Officer Rob Kuech and Cpl. Ken Michels cam into contact with Kendra G. Moore, 27, of Coatesville, during a vehicle inspection in the rear of the 200 block of West Harmony Street, police said. Moore allegedly provided false ID and was subsequently taken into custody on several warrants, police said.
Police are investigating the reported theft of a maroon 1999 Ford Expedition, which was allegedly stolen from the 500 block of East Chestnut Street on Sunday, Dec. 1, around 10:30 p.m., Officer Raymond Jagiowicz reported. Police said the victim had last seen the vehicle about 20 minutes before calling police at 10:58 p.m. and that no one else had permission to operate it.
Troopers from the Embreeville barracks initiated a traffic stop at Strasburg and Fairview Roads in East Fallowfield Township on Nov. 26 at 7:52 a.m., state police said. Mike Sergio Barron, 19, of Coatesville, who was operating a 1999 Honda Accord, was arrested for driving under the influence, police said.
A Coatesville teen was cited in connection with a two-car crash on Nov. 29 at 8:11 a.m. at West Lincoln Highway and N. Moscow Road in West Sadsbury Township, state police from the Embreeville barracks said. Police said Alexandria M. Pawling, 18, drove her 2003 Mercury Sable into the path of a 2005 Dodge Neon on West Lincoln Highway. A passenger in the Neon sustained minor injury, and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, police said.
