City police: Contraband warrant prompts false name

Officer says Quarryville woman lied about identity

IMG_0485While on routine patrol on Saturday at 4:02 p.m., Coatesville Police Officer Joe Thompson noticed a vehicle with a suspicious license plate at First Avenue and Chestnut Street, police said. During a subsequent traffic stop, the occupants all appeared nervous and gave conflicting stories about their whereabouts, police said. Further investigation revealed that Christina Alessandrini, 30, and Kelly Bainbridge, 33, both of Quarryville, had drugs and drug paraphernalia in their possession, including crack cocaine, marijuana, pills, and a pipe, police said.

In addition, police discovered that Bainbridge, who lied about her identity, was wanted in Montgomery County for allegedly smuggling contraband into a prison. Both Bainbridge and Allessandrini were charged with drug offenses, police said.

Officer Arthur Brown served a warrant on John A. Keslick, 53, on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 2:30 p.m., police said. Keslick, who had been charged with driving under the influence on June 7, 2012, failed to appear for a court proceeding, police said.

On Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6:56 p.m., police took Michael J. Davis, 33, of Coatesville, into custody in the 600 block of East Lincoln Highway on a warrant, Officer Chris McCarthy reported.

Police came into contact with Joel Santana, 43, of Coatesville, on Thursday, Dec. 5, during a traffic stop at 7:47 p.m. in the 300 block of East Glencrest  and took him into custody on a warrant from the West Chester Police Department, Officer Rob Kuech and Cpl. Ken Michel reported.

The same officers reported contact with James C. Allen, 45, of Coatesville, in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue on Friday, Dec. 6, at 12:03 a.m., police said. During a traffic stop, police said Allen, who was driving with a suspended license, unsuccessfully attempted to elude the officers. Allen was taken into custody to await transport by constables, police said.

Police came into contact with Deborah Tipton, 32, of Coatesville, on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6:55 p.m. on North Third Avenue, Officer Rob Kuech reported. Tipton will be charged for possessing a small amount of marijuana, police said.

A vehicle investigation on Friday, Dec. 6, at 10:06 p.m. in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway led to an apprehension, Officer Jose Colon reported. Shannon L. Hyman, 41, of Philadelphia, was found to have a warrant and taken into custody to await transport by constables, police said.

While on routine patrol, Officers Joe Thompson and Guy Bruchstein checked on a suspicious vehicle at Eighth and Stirling Streets on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 1:45 p.m., police said. Charles Warren, 40, of Coatesville, was in the vehicle and unable to produce an ID, police said. Further investigation revealed that Warren had a loaded Ruger 45-caliber pistol, police said. Warren was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, police said.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4, police responded to the 900 block of Olive Street at 12:24 p.m. for a burglary complaint, Officer Arthur Brown reported. Police said Nyree Thompson, 20, of Coatesville, fled after kicking in the front door of a residence. A warrant was issued, police said.

A pedestrian stop at Palmer Avenue and East Lincoln Highway on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 12:37 a.m. led to a disorderly conduct citation for Ronald J. London-Johnson, 18, of Coatesville, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. London-Johnson was observed standing in the road and urinating, police said.

A resident of the 700 block of Lumber Street said she heard a loud crash outside on Saturday, Dec. 7, about 8 p.m. and discovered that a large rock had been thrown through the front driver’s side window of her vehicle, which had also been hit with eggs, Officer Joe Woulfe reported. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

Officer Sylvester Earle responded on Dec. 4 at 7:28 a.m. to the 400 block of West Lincoln Highway for a reported accident with property damage, police said. Police said Jeffery Jackson, 54, of Coatesville, was engaged in an argument with a passenger when he crashed into a posted work area sign as well as another vehicle. No one was injured, but both vehicles sustained moderate damage, police said. Jackson faces reckless driving and traffic offenses, police said.

Troopers from the Embreeville barracks stopped Thabani R. Moyo, 37, of Ontario, Canada, on Nov. 28 at 12:03 a.m., state police said.  During the traffic stop at Rt. 82, north of Glencrest Road, in Valley Township, troopers determined that Moyo was driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than 0.16, twice the legal limit, court records said. He was arrested, arraigned, and released on 10 percent of $10,000 bail to await a preliminary hearing on Dec. 9, records said.
