City police: Domestic dispute leads to drug arrest

Officer says man fleeing disturbance had bags of suspected crack cocaine

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3:49 a.m., Coatesville Cpl. Jonathan Shave responded to assist officers with a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Francis Drive, police said. En route, Shave observed a vehicle fleeing the scene and conducted a traffic stop of Lenn Tucker, 22, of Coatesville, police said. Tucker was found to be in possession of numerous bags of suspected crack cocaine, police said. Tucker was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute and committed to Chester County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail, police said.

While on routine patrol on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8:03 p.m., Officer Joe Thompson observed a red pickup truck parked at Chester and Harmony, a location known for drug activity, police said. Further investigation led to the arrest of Dayvon Brown, 20, of Coatesville, accused of buying crack cocaine, and William March, 49, of Florida, the alleged seller, police said. A records check indicated that March had a warrant from Baltimore police for aggravated assault, police said. Both men were arraigned on drug offenses, police said.

Police took Benito Beltran, of Coatesville, into custody in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7:10 p.m. on a warrant for driving under the influence on May 5, Office Chris McCarthy reported. Bentran was arraigned and transported to Chester County Prison after failing to post $5,000 cash bail, police said.

Cpl. Jonathan Shave took a report on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 10:45 p.m. from a victim, who advised that her ex-boyfriend was posting inappropriate pictures and comments on social media and repeatedly calling the victim‘s cell phone, even after blocking the number, police said. Rodney Jacks, 22, of Coatesville, was cited for harassment, police said.

On Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10:38 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave arrested Barry Hill, 30, of Coatesville, for public intoxication after he was found lying on the ground in the unit block of Chester Avenue, police said. Hill was held until sober, police said.

Cpl. Jonathan Shave arrested Fernando Florez, 47, of Coatesville, in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway for public intoxication on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 12:40 a.m. after Florez was found stumbling and vomiting in the roadway, police said. Florez was held until sober, police said.

Rachel Davis, 30, of Coatesville, was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at her residence in the unit block of Chester Avenue on a bench warrant, Officer Joe Thompson reported.

Brandy Hickman, 34, of Coatesville, was taken into custody on a bench warrant after police responded to a domestic disturbance in the unit block of Chester Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 p.m., Officer Joe Thompson reported.

Police came into contact with Maurice Hurst, 25, of Coatesville, on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 9:21 a.m. in the 500 block of East Harmony Street, Officer Guy Bruchstein reported. Hurst was taken into custody on a bench warrant and a criminal warrant, police said.
