One warrant reportedly nets another – and another

Within minutes, Coatesville Police say they took 3 cousins into custody

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn Friday, Dec. 20, Coatesville Police observed Anthony T. Grubb, 22, of Downingtown, in the unit block of North Church Street at 1:43 p.m., Officer Chris McCarthy reported. While taking Grubb, who had a bench warrant, into custody, police said they saw Damian S. Connor, 22, who also had a bench warrant, walking nearby. Officers McCarthy, Jose Colon, and Joseph Thompson proceeded to Connor’s residence in the 200 block of West Lincoln Highway, where they found him in a third-floor bedroom with Michael Connor, 19, of Coatesville, who also had a bench warrant. All three men, who are cousins, were held for processing, police said.

Officer Joseph Thompson stopped Joseph Perry IV, 23, of Coatesville, on Friday, Dec. 20, at 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Fleetwood Street for a stop-sign violation, police said. Perry was driving with a license suspended for drunken driving, police said. A search of his vehicle yielded a loaded firearm, which Perry was not permitted to carry because of a previous felony conviction, police said. Perry, who was also carrying a large amount of U.S. currency, was charged with firearms and traffic violations, police said.

Cpl. Jonathan Shave cited James Baron, 50, for violating the open container ordinance on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 10:07 a.m. in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway, police said.

A dispute on a bus led to a citation for Stacey Hawkins 49, of Coatesville, on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 10:23 a.m., Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. Police said Hawkins slapped another individual, causing a slight cut on the victim’s lip, police said.

Cpl. Jonathan Shave assisted officers from Christiana Borough in taking Kareem Marrett, 23, of Coatesville, into custody on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 11:07 a.m., police said. Jarrett, who was wanted for terroristic threats, was transported to court by Christiana officers, police said.

Troopers from the Embreeville barracks observed a driver sleeping in the left lane at a traffic light at Marshallton Thorndale Road and Lincoln Highway in Caln Township on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 2:35 a.m., state police said. The driver, Brandon N. Melton, 30, of Coatesville, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence, police said, adding that charges were filed in district court.
