Michigan man cited for crash on U.S. 30 Bypass

State police say he rear-ended driver stopped for another accident

PoliceBlotterOn Thursday, Dec. 26, at 10:05 a.m., troopers from the Embreeville barracks responded to back-to-back, two-vehicle crashes on the U.S. 30 Bypass, just west of Rt. 340 in Caln Township, state police said. Andrew J. Bulla, 22, of Kallamazoo, Mi., was traveling westbound and failed to stop his gray 2012 Jeep Compass in time on the snow-covered roadway, rear-ending a gray 2010 Nissan Pathfinder that had stopped for a second accident, police said. Bulla was cited for failing to maintain a safe speed, police said.

On Thursday, Jan. 2, at 6:06 p.m., Coatesville Police Officer Miguel A. Ortiz responded to the 100 block of Rosemont Ave for a hit-and-run auto accident, police said. Upon arrival, the victim said she came out of her house to warm up her car and noticed that it had been hit, evidenced by heavy, rear-end damage; she said she did not see or hear any noise, police said. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.

On Wednesday, Jan. 01, at 10:19 a.m., Coatesville Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway, Officer Sylvester Earle reported. Rayonda Lyons, 26, of Coatesville, was cited for careless driving for hitting the rear of a vehicle attempting to park, police said, adding that no injuries occurred and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

A traffic stop on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 1:40 a.m. at Lincoln Highway and Caln Road in Caln Township led to two arrests, said state police from the Embreeville barracks. The driver, James F. Newtown, 21, of East Fallowfield, was arrested for driving under the influence while his passenger, Zachary A. Trost, 21, of Pottstown, was cited after being found in possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said.
