City police: Pizza deliverer struck, robbed at gunpoint

Investigation reportedly  led to arrest of two Coatesville men

PoliceBlotterOn Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10:57 p.m., a pizza deliverer was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint the 800 block of Lumber Street, Coatesville Police Officer Stephen Galletta reported. Police said the victim was struck in the head by one of two assailants and threatened with being shot if he did not give the robbers money, police said. A short time later, police said they took James Davis, 20, and Davon Peoples, 19, both of Coatesville, into custody on charges that include robbery, conspiracy, assault, and related offenses.

Both Davis and Peoples were taken to Chester County Prison after failing to post $100,000 cash bail each, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 13 in Valley Township district court.

A hit-and-run accident led police to the unit block of South Church Street on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 11:30 p.m., Officer Kirt Guyer reported. The victim said his 1999 black Acura Integra, which had been parked on the street, was sideswiped, causing damage along the driver’s side of the vehicle, police said. On Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10:42 p.m., Cpl. Jeffrey lngemie conducted a traffic stop on a grey sedan that was going the wrong way on Cedar Street, police said. The driver, Aaron Lawrence, 27, of Coatesville, was found to be in possession of a small bag of marijuana, police said. He taken into custody, processed, and released pending a summons from district court, police said,

On Thursday, Dec. 26, patrol officers from West Whiteland Township were dispatched to the Spencer’s store in the Exton Square Mall for a report of a retail theft, West Whiteland police said. Upon investigation, police charged Charlise Palmer, 19, of Coatesville, with summary retail theft for stealing $14 worth of merchandise, police said.

The same day, West Whiteland officers responded to the Habitat store in the Exton Square Mall for a reported retail theft, West Whiteland police said. Upon arrival, officers were advised that Tashiana Clark, 27, of Coatesville, had stolen $14 worth of merchandise, West Whiteland police said. Clark was charged with summary retail theft, police said.

On Saturday, Dec. 28, a West Whiteland Township Police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on the U.S. 30 Bypass for speeding, police said. After making contact with the driver, Jessica Lyons, 22, of Coatesville, officers determined that she was driving under the influence, police said. She was charged with DUI, speeding, and careless driving and released on a criminal summons, West Whiteland police said.
