Thorndale man accused of attempted child-luring

Police say he tried to pay female juvenile money to ‘chill with him’

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA 41-year-old Thorndale man faces attempted child-luring charges for an incident on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 7:15 p.m. at South Third Avenue and Maple Street, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Police said a female juvenile called authorities after Gino Demosthenes offered her money “to chill with him.” Demosthenes was arrested on charges that also include corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor, police said.

During a traffic stop on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 11 p.m. at Oak and Eighth Avenues, Officers Joseph Thompson and Chris McCarthy noticed furtive movements by Anthony Turner-Smith, 20, of Thorndale, and then saw what appeared to be cocaine on the floor of the vehicle, police said.

Turner-Smith and Erik Ciserones, 21, of Coatesville, were asked to exit the vehicle, where police said they found marijuana. During transport to the station, Ciseronos removed his handcuffs but could not escape from the vehicle because the doors don’t open from the inside, police said. Subsequent searches revealed more marijuana in the possession of Turner-Smith, police said. Both are awaiting arraignment, according to court records.

Police took Victor R. Jimenez, 51, of Coatesville, into custody for public drunkenness on Wednesday, Jan, 8, at 11:54 p.m. in the 600 block of East Lincoln Highway, Officer Jose Colon reported.
