City firefighters extinguish bucket fire Monday night

Police looking for three young males observed at scene

IMG_0874Coatesville Police units were dispatched to the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway on Monday, Jan. 13, at 10:15 p.m. for a bucket fire, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. Upon arrival at the rear of a residence, police said the fire had already been extinguished by the city’s Fire Department.

Witnesses said three young males dressed in black were seen in the area, and one appeared to use a lighter to start the fire before the trio fled, police said. After observing an Audi station wagon driving erratically in the 400 block of East Lincoln Highway on Monday, Jan. 13, at 4:49 p.m., Coatesville Police Cpl. Jonathan Shave conducted a vehicle stop and came into contact with Marc Canonica, 42, of Glenmoore, police said. Canonica appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely, police said. He was taken to Brandywine Hospital for a blood test, and charges of driving under the influence and drug possession will be filed, police said.
