Bogus inspection sticker reportedly spurs arrest

Police say 33-year-old female driver taken into custody after resisting arrest

IMG_0873A vehicle with fraudulent inspection stickers caught the attention of Coatesville Police Lt. James Audette in the 400 block of Maple Avenue on Monday, Jan. 13 at 2:13 p.m., police said. The driver, later identified as Michelle Hogue, 33, of Coatesville, was stopped in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway, police said. Hogue repeatedly refused requests to produce her driver’s license and identification and attempted to flee, police said. After a brief struggle, she was taken into custody and will face charges that include obstruction of justice and resisting arrest, police said.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, Coatesville Police responded to the unit block of Virginia Avenue at 10:34 p.m. for a domestic dispute, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. Upon arrival, police said the victim reported that an intoxicated Brian James, 26, had entered the residence, refused to leave when asked, and used a chair to break a window in the victim’s minivan. After the window shattered, the victim said Nichole Mcelyea, 30, of Coatesville, began screaming at the victim and pushed her way into the home, where an assault ensued, police said.  Both James and Mcelyea fled in a tan Nissan before officers arrived, but their vehicle was subsequently stopped and the pair was taken into custody, police said. Both face charges that include defiant trespass and disorderly conduct and are awaiting preliminary arraignment, court records said.
