MEDIA—Red Raiders starting pitcher Justin Moore was sensational through the first six innings on Wednesday’s PIAA Class AAAA District One second round battle with Penncrest, as he allowed four hits and two runs in that span to post Coatesville to an 11-2 edge as the host Lions came to bat for the final time.

Coatesville's coach Ziegler has his Red Raiders knocking on the door of the state tourney

A solo home run By Billie Buckwalter in the sixth had been the big blow up until a comedy of hits and errors led to the six–run outburst, which made things interesting for coach Ziegler and his boys, as C.J Martinez was called on to close out the game.

Coatesville (12-10) followed the model they have stuck to for success all season, by continuing to play outstanding defense, solid pitching and timely hitting (which includes enough bunting to add a squared around batter to the team logo.

Moore (1-0 in the post season) will never be confused with Nolan Ryan but the always effective right-hander, even though he did not record a strike out, continually forced Penncrest to hit it right at a Red Raiders defender, with only six balsl leaving the infield over the first six frames.

Coatesville pounded out 13 hits in an offensive explosion that they have not been accustomed to as Emmet Hunt, C.J Young and Brian Brown each drove in two runs to pace the attack.

With the win the number 12 seeded Red Raiders advance to the PIAA District One quarterfinals against North number one seed Council Rock South, who defeated North Penn 4-1 to advance into the quarter final round match up with Coatesville on May 25th..
