Coatesville man accused of rear-ending school bus

Police said he was following too closely; no injuries reported

IMG_0314On Thursday, Jan. 23, at 5:01 p.m., Coatesville Cpl. Jonathan Shave responded to the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway for a two-vehicle accident involving a school bus, police said. A Honda Civic driven by Cody K. Stone, 27, of Coatesville, was following too closely to a Ford School bus as it stopped at the train tracks, striking the rear of the vehicle, police said.

Neither driver nor the two students on the bus reported any injuries, police said, adding that both vehicles could be driven from the scene. Stone was cited for following too closely, driving an unregistered vehicle, and inspections violations, police said.

Coatesville Police responded to several calls of reported thefts from motor vehicles in the Millview section of the city the morning of Thursday, Jan. 23, Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. Several victims said that their cars had been opened and various items had been removed, or the vehicles, all of which appeared to have been unlocked, had been ransacked, police said. Residents are reminded to make sure that their vehicles are locked and secured. On Thursday, Jan. 23, at 10:33 a.m., police received a complaint regarding criminal mischief to a vehicle, Officer Carmen Mollichella reported. The victim said his car was parked overnight in the 1200 block of Stirling Street, where it had all four tires slashed, police said, adding that the damage appeared to be caused by a knife. Upon arrival I spoke with the victim who stated his car was parked all night.     Well the school board has been “rear ending” the citizens for years. The School board should be arrested as well
