COATESVILLE — A city man was struck in the foot by gunfire early Friday in one of two apparent shooting incidents this week, city police said.
In the early morning hours Friday, police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of City View Drive and Baxter Street. When they reached the area, police began looking for evidence of the shooting and any potential victims. Although victims were located, police said they found a Chevrolet SUV parked on the street with apparent bullet holes.
While continuing the investigation, police were advised that a shooting victim had come into Brandywine Hospital — Bradshon Jennings, who was struck in the foot while driving the Chevy SUV, while traveling south on Pennsylvania Avenue. Jennings told police that heard between five and 10 shots and ultimately realized he had been struck, police said. Jennings told police he drove to City View Drive and contacted his girlfriend, who drove him to Brandywine Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
As police searched the area, they said that more than 20 shell casings were found on the scene. Multiple vehicles and residents appear to have been struck by gunfire.
A few hours earlier, on Thursday, police were called to the scene of a reported gun discharge on South 6th Avenue. Police said they found multiple shell casings on the ground and that a home and two cars had been damaged by gun fire. No injuries were reported.
