Caln Police released this security camera image of an alleged armed robber who hit the Family Dollar story Thursday night.
CALN — Township police are investigating a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar store on Lincoln Highway, Thursday evening.
Police said that a man approached the entrance of the store a little after 8:30 p.m., accosted an employee standing outside and forced her to go into the store with him. He then, police said, announced a robbery and brandished a small semi-automatic handgun. Allegedly, the man instructed employees to remove an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and place it in a reusable shopping bag the alleged perpetrator brought with him.
He then left — police said it was unclear whether he left on foot or by vehicle.
He is described as a dark-skinned black male, standing in excess of 6’4” with a large build. He was wearing black sweatpants, a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and the drawstring pulled tight, as well as a blue bandana to conceal his face, and white gloves.
The township Police Department is urging anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 610-383-1821.
