Gun homicide takes fourth city victim in a week

policetapeCOATESVILLE — A South Carolina man was gunned down on Belmont Street Monday night, just after 6:30 p.m. and later died of his wounds — the fourth person to die from gunshot wounds in the city in the last week.

Kevin Paul Jalbert, 36, was found by police in the middle of the 600 block of Belmont Street, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Paoli Hospital where he later died.

This incident, as well as last week’s homicides, remain under investigation — and police say they believe there were multiple witnesses to this latest shooting. Police are asking anybody with information relative to this homicide or either of the two other recent homicides to contact Detectives of the Coatesville Police Department at 610-384-2300 or Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866.
