The Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance announces the election of Tom Taylor of Brite Realty Services, Inc. as the organization’s 2023 Chairman of the Board.

Taylor has served on the 2nd Century Alliance Board of Directors since January 2021 but has always been committed to the City’s economic wellbeing.

In his role as Senior Vice President at Brite Realty Services Inc., he has worked closely with the Coatesville Redevelopment Authority (RDA), marketing and managing the RDA’s real estate holdings for the past 11 years. Additionally, he and Brite Realty were involved the sale of key pieces of the redevelopment effort – the former Lipkin’s warehouse (now Midway Arts); 190 West Lincoln (now the nth Innovation Center); and the former Coatesville Record Building (now the Record Kitchen + Bar and Splitting Edge Axe Throwing).

“Tom has been a stalwart supporter of the organization, our volunteer leadership, and our staff. We are so fortunate to have volunteers like him who commit to advancing our mission and play a critical role in building an economically healthy future for the City of Coatesville,” states Sonia Huntzinger, Executive Director.

Taylor served as the organization’s Treasurer in 2022. His enthusiasm and advocacy for the City’s future underpin his commitment and service to the mission of the 2nd Century Alliance.

“I am humbled by the confidence of the Board in electing me as Chair,” says Taylor. “I see firsthand the exciting things that are happening in Coatesville and am honored to be a part of it. I see 2023 as an exciting year for the City, with many projects coming to fruition. This will be the year that the redevelopment effort in Coatesville fully transforms from vision to reality. And, the 2nd Century Alliance is playing a key role in that progress.”

The 2nd Century Alliance was founded in 2015 when the City celebrated 100 years of incorporation, to ensure Coatesville’s “second century” is economically prosperous. A public/private partnership funded in part by the Chester County Commissioners and private sector contributions, the organization’s mission is to drive economic development in the City of Coatesville that enables the community to thrive.
