Local residents raise $140K to fight prostate cancer

Sunday, nearly 200 people gathered at Wilson Farm Park in Chesterbrook for the Philadelphia ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk hosted by MidLantic Urology.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and on Sunday, September 29, nearly 200 community members came together in the fight to end prostate cancer at the 2024 Philadelphia ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk at Wilson Farm Park in Chesterbrook.

MidLantic Urology, one of the largest and most innovative health care providers in Pennsylvania, has partnered with ZERO Prostate Cancer in bringing the national run/walk series to Greater Philadelphia for its 5th year.
This year’s race, which was emceed by sports broadcaster Jamie Apody, raised more than $140,000 in funding for prostate cancer. These funds will be invested around the country to provide research for new treatments, free prostate cancer testing, and educate men and families about prostate cancer.

Philadelphia is one of nearly 50 communities across the nation as part of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series, the nation’s only event series dedicated solely to prostate cancer for more than a decade. The Run/Walk promotes disease awareness, educates men about their risk, and raises critical funding to support patients and families.
