Programs to be held at county’s Henrietta Hankin Branch in Chester Springs

Free tax help and a free concert are scheduled at Chester County’s Henrietta Hankin Branch Library in Chester Springs.

On Feb. 10, the library will continue its concert series with Stephen Kleiman, currently a music professor at Arcadia University in Glenside. Kleiman will be playing guitar, five-string banjo and mandolin. His career includes performances with Al Martino, The Woody Herman Big Band and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.

The hourlong concert will begin at 2 p.m. Because seating is limited, registration is encouraged.  Visit www.ccls.org/hankin or contact the Hankin reference desk at 610-321-1710 to register.

For the fourth year in a row, the Hankin library will host the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program, which provides free, volunteer-run tax assistance to low- and middle- income taxpayers.  Special attention is given to those aged 60 and older.  Assistance will be available on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Appointments will be available starting Feb. 8. Call the library at 610-321-1710 to make an appointment.

The AARP Tax-Aide program is administered by the AARP Foundation, but participants need not be members of AARP or of any particular age group. The Tax-Aide program is the nation’s largest, free volunteer-run tax assistance service. Last year, over 33,000 AARP Tax-Aide volunteers helped nearly three million taxpayers file their federal, state, and local returns.
