Library aims to demystify computers for adults

It also wants to spark inspiration during Hobby & Creativity Month

PCThe City of Coatesville Library wants to make sure that residents’ only exposure to a hard drive doesn’t occur during a snowstorm. Thus, it is  hosting beginning computer classes for adults who may not know a mouse from a megabyte.

Thursday’s class, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, is entitled “Help! I Need an Email Address.”  On Friday, during the same time frame, the topic will be ”I Want to Learn Microsoft Word.”  Past sessions have focused on other introductory procedures, and more will be scheduled if interest exists.

The library also wants to let residents know that March is Hobby & Creativity Month, and a host of books are available to spark inspiration. A few suggested titles are Drawing on the Artist Within by Betty Edwards, How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci by Michael Gelb, The Writing Life by Anne Dillard, A Whack on the Side of the Head by Roger von Oech, The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp, Finding Your North Star by Martha Beck, The Anti 9 to 5 Guide by Michelle Goodman, Handmade Living by Lotta Jansdotter, and The Renaissance Soul by Margaret Lobenstine.

Registration is required for all classes. Call 610-384-4115 to reserve a spot, or email dstout@ccls.org with any additional questions. More recommendations on books to nurture creativity can be found at the library, which is located at 501 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville, 19320.
