County offering identity-theft protection

Residents invited  to free shredding event Saturday

Image 1If you don’t want a shred of evidence available to identity thieves, the Chester County Solid Waste Authority is sponsoring a free event on Saturday to accommodate you.

Starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m. – unless the truck gets filled before then – residents are invited to a communal shredding initiative at the Chester County Solid Waste Authority Lanchester Landfill, located on Rt. 322, just two miles past the intersection of Rts. 10 and 322 in Honey Brook.

The event offers a safe opportunity to destroy and recycle documents that contain personal legal information, account statements, or medical information.  The destruction service is provided by Rapid Recycling of Oaks, a county news release said.
