Detectives said two of vehicles had been reported stolen; probe continuing
While investigating an incident at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday in the unit block of South Eighth Avenue, police located “what appeared to be an in-home chop shop in the basement containing stolen dirt bikes as well as several other unregistered dirt bikes,” reported Det. Sgt. Brandon Harris.
Police seized five dirt bikes and two dirt bike frames from the residence after the residents were unable to provide proof of ownership, police said. Two of the dirt bikes were confirmed stolen out of East Fallowfield Township, police said. Anyone with information regarding the bikes is asked to contact Harris at 610-384-2300.
On Friday at 4:35 a.m., Officer David Marquette observed Michael Christmas, 25, of Coatesville, staggering in the roadway and attempting to gain entry into a closed business, police said. Christmas, who was cited for public intoxication, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol to the degree that he could have endangered himself or others, police said.
On Wednesday at 6:18 p.m., police responded to a dog-bite complaint in the 400 block of Walnut Street, Officer David Marquette reported. Police said officers determined that Olivia Buchanan, 53, of Coatesville, commanded her dog to bite the victim, resulting in serious injury, police said. Buchanan was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and harboring a dangerous dog, police said.
Officer Jonathan Shave responded to the 200 block of Fleetwood Street for a domestic disturbance on Thursday at 3:57 p.m., police said. Contact was made with the victim, and Sheila Hood, 49, and Samaya Hood, 25, both of Coatesville were cited for harassment, police said.
A report of a fight led Officer Jonathan Shave to the 100 block of East Lincoln Highway at 6:08 p.m. on Thursday, police said. Shave made contact with Jeremy Peterson, 40, of Coatesville, who reported that Kevin Hood, 35, of Coatesville, punched him in the face. Hood was cited for harassment; Peterson was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and held on a Philadelphia warrant for failure to appear, police said.
Officer Jonathan Shave investigated a report that Dante Camp, 19, of Coatesville, threw a brick at a vehicle driving in the unit block of Eighth Avenue on Thursday at 4:56 p.m., police said. Camp was charged with reckless endangerment, police said.
Officer Stephen Galletta made contact with Kenneth Wylie, 22, of Coatesville, in the 700 block of East Chestnut Street on Thursday at 12:41 p.m.; Wylie, who had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, was taken into custody without incident and released to constables, police said.
On Thursday, at 9 a.m., Mario Garcia, 41, of Coatesville, surrendered at the police station to Officer Brenden M. Boyle, police said. Garcia had an active warrant for his arrest from Amtrak Police for theft by unlawful taking, police said.
Loud dirt bikes without license plates have been zooming around out neighborhood in Coatesville’s south east end for several years. Maybe they are the guys doing it.
