“Healthy Kids Day,” a free YMCA event on April 27 featuring Brandy, the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley’s mascot, will be one of the topics presented at Thursday’s CARN meeting.

The Coatesville Area Resource Network (CARN) is changing its meeting date from the third to the fourth Thursday of the month due to conflicts with other meetings that involve regular participants.

The next meeting will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday in the fourth-floor Community Room, 744 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.

The topic, “Higher Education Opportunities for Coatesville Residents,” will feature representatives of Lincoln University, who will provide information on the school’s fall expansion into Coatesville. In addition, Harcum College will discuss its degree program expansion, and Eastern University will offer an update on its Coatesville focus.

Information on the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, a free fair with games, family activities, healthy treats, fitness challenges, wellness screenings, crafts and more, will also be presented. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brandywine YMCA on April 27.

The meeting will include light refreshments, networking, a problem corner for those seeking assistance with a particular situation, and an exchange of new or existing agency program information.  Feel free to bring brochures or handouts.
