Bypass crash blamed on ‘following too closely’

State police said Downingtown man caused rear-end collision in Caln Twp.

Image 2A 2011 Kia Sorento was stopped for traffic in the right lane of the eastbound Rt. 30 Bypass in Caln Township when another driver rear-ended it, state police from the Embreeville barracks said.

Police said the crash occurred on Tuesday at 7:26 a.m., about 400 feet west of Rock Raymond Road. Police said no one was injured, but the driver of the striking vehicle, Shawn B. Braccia, 21, of Downingtown, who was operating a 2003 Dodge Neon that had to be towed from the scene, was cited for following too closely.

Coatesville Police Officer Carmen Mollichella was dispatched Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. to a domestic dispute in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street, police said. Upon investigation, Lamar Boyer, 29, of Coatesville, was arrested for simple assault, police said.
