COATESVILLE—The Red Raiders rebounded from their unexpected PIAA District One class AAAA consolation round loss to Souderton by getting back to Coatesville team basketball by beating Central Bucks West by a count of 50-44 to claim the seventh spot representing District One  in the upcoming PIAA state playoffs.

The Bucks (22-5) will have to enter the state bracket on a three game losing streak thanks to the Red Raiders defensive effort as C.B west got to within a bucket late in the forth but Coatesville slammed the door to preserve the win.

Tyler Schechter scored a game-high 20 points to fuel the Central Bucks West offense, while Derek Dyer added eight points for the Bucks.

Tymier Miller scored a team-high 17 points to pace the Red Raiders, while Emmett Hunt scored in twin digits for the winners with 11 points.

The Red Raiders (24-6) will now draw Pocono Mountain West in the opening round of the PIAA state playoffs on Saturday, March 10 6 pm at Freedom High School in Bethlehem.

The Panthers ( 22-4, 12-1 league) are currently ranked 34th in the state according to CBS Sports MaxPreps and take the floor led by a core group of seniors in 6’ 4” senior Quindell Brice, 6’ 3” center Dwanae Vines and 6’ 3” forward Tyrel Dixon along with junior point guard Eric Vick which will run the PMW offense as they try to neutralize the Red Raiders speed game.

“We don’t let a loss bother us,” said forward Tyler Burke after last week’s game with the Indians. “We will work hard all week to ready for the state playoffs and battle who ever we play, we know we are capable of beating anyone as long as we play our team game.”
